Anyone Out There Photographers who specialize in jewelry of filming?
I have read a variety of fashion magazines and high-end Architectural Digest and see many advertisements for beautiful watches and jewelry. I wonder if they are using high end digital SLR and macro lenses or digital medium format. It appears that the lighting is so specialized. I have seen the variety of light boxes and light shopping on eBay, but there is much more technical information to learn about photography products reflexive. Are there any books that show step by step tutorials on jewelry shots. Also, seems there is a wide variety of editing tools used to get the look professional ads. What is the best equipment to learn photography of jewelry? Thanks for the advice and assistance with this issue.
Lighting Jewelry can be extremely difficult. The shiny surface on most of that means you have to take into account the angles that the light is hitting to get the best effect. Throwing a stone that can reflect light in a hundred different ways (the rainbow little fun makes diamonds) and the problems increase tremendously. Look for books that deal with the lighting, the key is to shoot anything, but especially jewelry. The 'art' actually used depends your preferences and budget. They make tables, where you can set your light under the light and the piece from below, or use an illumination created by the higher can use any number of lights. I am a commercial photographer, but I have to play with him in a class that took a while ago, if there is more who can help with, please send me an email.
