What digital camera should I buy, and why?

I am a new serious hobbies of photography, which recently bought Pana FZ50, unfortunately, was broken and irreparable. Now, I'm thinking of two alternatives: 1 – downgrade to Pana FZ18, Sony H3, Olumpus SP560, Fujifilm 8000 .. etc 2 – to upgrade to a level Input D-SLR like the Canon 400D (Rebel XTi) or Olympus E510, etc. .. but I can only afford one lens! So what do you suggest? Noting that I prefer taking photos landscapes, macros and sometimes people .. all outdoor photos .. Thank you very much
